Same Sex Marriage Should Be A Controversial Topic - 849 Words

Same sex relationships can be a very controversial topic. For many decades people have felt offended when they see same sex couples holding hands on the street, or kissing each other in public. These people have insulted or even physically assaulted homosexuals with no compassion. Same sex couples should have the freedom to love and make their own decisions when it comes to choosing their partners like any other person. We should be able to respect other people’s opinions, stop judging others so much and focusing on our own actions and their outcomes. Romantic relationships for lesbians and gays are very challenging, as society can be very brutal and cruel sometimes against people who have chosen to love other people who are not from the opposite sex. Every person feels the need to share their lives with someone else and everyone is free to choose their partners. Society should not impose their opinions or even worse putting other people down for their sexual preferences. According to Dr. Schurman-Kauflin, homosexual relationships can be at times more stable than the heterosexual ones homosexual couples have shown to have longer and happier relationships and less percentage of cheating than straight couples. She has interviewed 200 people, half of them heterosexual and the other half homosexual, the results of the study show that homosexuals very more loyal, committed and prefer longer relationships.
